Victory day celebration in Sevastopol

Victory Day is the most touching and exciting holiday. The Victory Day parade in Sevastopol makes an overwhelming impression on the audience. The entire city turns to a site for festive events that begin long before 9 May.

Among the wide variety of city events, the brightest ones are the following:

• Military parade on Nakhimov Square. The march of military troops, equipment and people marks the power and strength of the army. The parade is attended by both modern machinery and authentic old equipment: motorcycles, Willys MB and well preserved "GAZ-M-1".
• "Immortal Regiment". The procession in memory of the ancestors who gave their lives for the Victory has become a wonderful tradition, which is highly respected by Sevastopol residents.
• Airshow. Two most famous Russian air force jet teams: "The Russian Knights" and "Swifts" - are preparing all year long to show their skills on the Victory Day in Sevastopol.
• The Gala Concert. Folk bands of the city and famous artists consider it an honor to perform songs of the war years in front of the public on Nakhimov Square, which is within walking distance from the Sevastopol Hotel.
• The Fireworks show. The immense celebration traditionally ends with the fireworks over the Sevastopol Bay.

Navy day celebration in Sevastopol

If you missed the celebration of the Victory Day, no worries. Even more magnificent celebration of the Navy Day takes place on the last weekend of July. In 2021, it falls on July 25, but the celebration marathon starts earlier. The final rehearsal of the parade takes place 1-2 days before the holiday.

The festive program may vary, but traditionally the following events take place:

• From 09:00 to 12:30 in the water area of the Sevastopol Bay, a parade of ships takes place, as well as dynamic demonstrations of combat training of the Black Sea Fleet crews.
• From 12:00 to 18:00 - an exhibition of weapons and military equipment of the Black Sea Fleet on Nakhimov Square.
• From 14:00 to 18:00 a visit to the ships of the fleet by residents and guests of Sevastopol.
• The holiday continues with the gala concert with Russian pop artists, Sevastopol and the Black Sea Fleet performers on the stage on Nakhimov Square.
• The celebration ends with fireworks show from 22:00 to 22:30.
